Access Control

Evaluating, at run-time, the intersection of applicable authorizations, classifications, and contexts, to provide access to all relevant entitled resources, in the given context and condition, access control is an entitlement-dependent operation, which, without adequate entitlement, becomes subject to abuse, and endangers all resources.

Clearly key to knowledge sharing, entitlement-based access control, also evaluates the access type or level to be provided, and enables detailed and configurable tracking of all access-related resources and operations.

Not only is access control entitlement-dependent, but it is also responsible for implementing and executing many entitlement-related rules and policies.

Access control is a key fundamental knowledge modeling, management, and sharing operation.
